Looking forward to trying this out… may have to donate the flapjacks to my mum in the office though… not exactly healthy :P

Hahahaha I love it.

Adore this. The “Suck my dick, jesus” is my favorite!

That’s too amazingly funny!

This is pretty much what was going through my head when I took yoga classes…lol

This week has been pretty hectic! I started my new job at The Spa here which is a big entertainments venue in our town which hosts corporate functions, music and art events and big shows.

I knew this job would boost my weekly exercise as I would be constantly on my feet walking at a fast pace. This was the case on Friday where I estimated I continuously walked at fast pace, while carrying things for around 4 hours… my joints, lower back and calves really felt it! Saying that I really enjoyed it, we were even rewarded with an apple crumble and custard on our 15 min break which I ate with no hesitation after all the running around we had done ;)

I have continued to drink lots of water and juice each day. I have not had as much varied exercise as I would have liked this week, just one session at karate, no yoga as the class was cancelled this week and only one running session. I think the added exercise from work though should have helped me out :)

Diet has been pretty smooth on the calorie counting front, I have had treats, chocolate, fish and chips, you named it! But I have kept track and made sure that in the day I never went over 1600 calories and usually hit my 1200-1400 target.

So the moment of truth came this morning when I went to weigh in. I already suspected I had lost a bit as I got on the scales yesterday after my lunch fully dressed and weighed in less than last weeks unclothed, morning weigh in.

Another hint was that I had to buy new work trousers and a shirt for the new job. I went to the shop, grabbed the usual size 14 and 16 of each pair to try on and a 14 shirt… all were too big!!! So I went back to the rails and grabbed 12’s which to me looked like they were going to be a tight fit… To my surprise they all fit perfectly. I haven’t been a size 12 pants since I was at my fittest 3 years ago before my skiing injuries so this really boosted my confidence and my efforts to stick to this adjusted life style.

The scales read 146.4lbs this morning! I almost did a backflip off them… felt pretty awesome, a loss of 3.2lbs since last week :D Just 6 more lbs and my BMI will be in the healthy range!

So with that I am feeling really motivated and more than happy to stay on track!

Next weekend there could be lots of food and drink filling my days and nights but there is also 3 days full of hiking as we are staying in Wales for 3 days in a rented country house which I can’t wait for. I just hope the exercise we get from the trekking burns all the jagger bombs and cider than will be consumed on the evenings ;)

WOOHOO!

On Saturday I weighed in at 149.4lbs which smashed through that 150lb goal I’ve been hovering around for the best part of 6 months!!!

I didn’t dare look again until this morning in case it had gone back up and was just a fluke or my scales had broke..lol! But I got on this morning and it showed 149.6lbs so I’m super happy!

I made some changes to what I was doing as I was sick of no progress so did a bit of reading and did what I knew I needed to do for ages…

DRANK MORE WATER!!!

I’ve been drinking between 3 and 5 pints of water or no sugar cordial each day on top of any decaff tea and coffee I may have, which inevitably has made me pee like a race horse but I also feel much better for it. I’m more alert, able to sleep better (providing I don’t drink too late in the evening :P) and I’m seeing weight loss at last!

In this time I have also smashed two of my running goals: Run for 10mins non stop, Run for 15mins non stop! In fact I have ran for 20 mins non stop now too :D (will be trying 25mins this week) This is huger than huge for me as I really have never been any good at running!!

I have taken up Yoga as part of my fitness regime too, which is just as well as I have slacked recently with my Kettlebell and Karate training :P

Finally feeling positive again, so if you two have been struggling with breaking that plateau… try more water… I read it from the start but never motivated myself enough to force the clear stuff down!

*fist pumps the air*

I just started using a new Calorie Counting website as the one I was using previously was clearly aimed at a US market so I was having to manually add most of my foods from Morrisons and Tesco’s and I was also having to convert my measurement units. So I was just adding my Belvita Breakfast biscuits which I have each morning that I have to be up at 6am for work (Mon-Wed) when I came across THIS BLOG post about the biscuits claiming that you may as well eat cake for breakfast due to the amount of sugar in them. No wonder they weren’t already listed on my new calorie counting site.

They claim to keep you full for 4 hours… I am always at the point of feeling sick through hunger by 10am when I have these, which when reading the blog post explains why. I eat them at around 7.30am usually with an apple or banana so that is only 2.5 hours.

Companies should be able to mislead you in this way.. I knew they tasted too good to be true.

On the other hand surely eating something is better than skipping breakfast? As I simply don’t get chance to eat anything else on these mornings.

I purchased a 6kg Kettlebell today!

Had fun trying it out tonight after my run (C25K Week 4 AGAIN :P).

Did 3 sets of 20 reps of two exercises to get used to the feel of it, Kettlebell Swings and Kettlebell Waist Pass’s.

Looking forward to doing more :)

Got my technique from here: http://www.fourhourworkweek.com/blog/2011/01/08/kettlebell-swing/

My calories have been consistantly down (under 1600) each day for the last month pretty much. The occasional treat day it has hit about 1800…

I have been drinking so much juice and water that I either wake up throughout the night needing to pee or in the morning nearly explode…

I exercise more than 3 times a week, sometimes everyday when I feeling super buff, with either Karate and or Running…

Yet I am still not losing any weight.

I almost broke through my 150lb target last week at 150.4lb but this morning the scale showed me back up at 153lb… I really don’t know what else I should do?!

I don’t really do any resistance training with weights as I don’t go to a gym and my boyfriends free weights are way too heavy, maybe I should invest in some kettlebells or something, I have seen some in SportsDirect.

I also invested in new scales recently to see if my fluctuation was anything to do with increased muscle mass or water retention but that doesn’t seem to be the case :(

I start a new job this week which will have me on my feet most of the time so I’m hoping this may also help, other than that I’m not sure what else to do. I’m certainly not going to reduce my calorie intake as I don’t want to risk my body going into starvation mode and I want to keep healthy so that the weight loss and life style is for good!

This is great advice.

Pretty glad I haven’t done fast food in months :D

It’s nice to see some real miles and time spent on my weekly training report :)

Hoping to match it this week!

alwaysanunderdog:

I want this for outside my house!

This is totally required at the front of our Dojo :P

I ran for 5 sessions over the week, between 2 and 3 miles each time.

My boyfriend Pete (if you use Dailymile you can follow him here) finally started running this week, so that was really nice to run along side him as he starts his training for a Triathlon in May 2012.

Sunday was my first run on the beach (turned out to be almost 5 miles!!! *See above photo) with some friends who are training for The Great North Run so was fun trying to keep up with them (I had no chance…lol).

Jen & Sway on Beach Run

That is Jen on the left who is training for the Great North Run and Ben aka Sway who is insanely fit, think he recently completed a half marathon when he was only training for a 10k O_o

Hit Karate only twice but that was due to work getting in the way! Did have an excellent session on Thursday though where I met up with 3 of the ladies who are planning to take part in Kata competitions and we smashed through all of the Kata’s we knew and played with some new ones too!

Bekz Karate Stretches

This was taken on Monday at Karate, why they insist on taking these unflattering stretching pics is beyond me :P (Please excuse my rude gesture…lol)

I bought some kitchen scales to keep a better handle on the quantity of food I’m eating which has immediately reduced most of my portion sizes.. breakfast is about 75% less than I previously ‘guessed’ the portion should be… which is an eye opener!

Overall this week has been great! I’ve felt motivated and energetic! There was one night that was boozy and filled with junk, but it was an lovely night spent with friends from out of town (who then made me run on the beach to make up for it :P) so was worth it!

Another week like this and I should really start to feel the difference and maybe even see it on the scales!
